General Information

Visitors

All visitors must sign in/out at the front desk. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to help in classrooms, the library, or the computer lab. MVUSD requires all adult volunteers to complete a volunteer registration form at the school office.

Morning Arrival

The school gates open at 8:15 AM. Students must wait outside the gates until the bell rings unless entering through the MPR for the Eat and Meet early morning program (students only) or accompanied by a parent to check in for the SEED childcare located on the west side of the campus.  Parents may not come on to campus through the gates but may enter through the office with ID and clear educational purpose for entering campus.  Our new district-wide controlled campus procedures prohibit those unauthorized to enter campus.

School Phone Number

951-696-1421 - Please report student absences on the day of absence by dialing Extension 2696

Report Cards

Student progress is tracked though four reporting periods with semester end report cards in December and June.

Conferences

Parent/teacher conferences are held in October.

Lost and Found

Please write the student’s full name on all personal belongings. The lost/found rack can be found outside the MPR.

Cell Phones/Smartwatches- We discourage elementary students from bringing cell phones/smartwatches. If parents support the child bringing a phone/smartwatch, the device must remain in the “off” position during school hours. The camera on smart phones/watches may not be used on campus during school hours or functions. Please see the Student Handbook for more information.

Bicycles/Skateboards/Rollerblades/Scooters

All students are required to wear helmets if they are riding to school.   Students must be a 3rd-5th grader to ride to school.  Bikes/skateboards/scooters must be kept in the bike yard and may not be used on campus. E-bikes/scooters may need special permission and recommended for experienced riders in the upper grades.

Lunches

Nutritious meals are available for purchase for breakfast and lunch, in addition to ala carte items during lunch and breaks.   Menus are sent home monthly and posted on-line. There are two ways to pre-pay for meals and pre-payment discounts are offered. Applications for free or reduced-price lunches are available from Nutrition Services.  Our Meet and Eat program has breakfast services beginning at 7:50am and is for students only. Parents may not accompany their children before school in the MPR.

Birthday Party Invitations

Our teachers are often asked to pass out birthday invitations. We can help only if all students in the class are invited. If you are only able to invite a limited number of students from the class, then we can not assist you in this activity. Students’ feelings are hurt if they are not invited, and we cannot ask teachers to be put in this difficult position. Thank you for helping with the caring issues.

Parking

As you are all aware, parking is limited at drop-off and arrival. Please be sure to follow the law when driving and parking. Also, please respect our community neighbors when parking and do not block driveways.  Thanks for helping us model how to be good community citizens.
